THE TONE

We decided to do a TV news representing characters from different extremes, but that could all live in our actual society. We believe that our society isn't very accepting and pepole's view of the world is extremely affected by it. By showing all these characters we try to raise awareness to the fact that all extremes are bad, although while measured, all opinions are valid. We tried to approach the topic with humor, by mocking both the liberal and the conservative ideals.

SECTIONS & ORGANISATION

The first idea was that our TV news would be divided into 7 sections: national politics, national economy, international, local, culture or entretainment, gossip and weather. Each section had two pieces of news, bringing a total of 14 news. Moreover, we also thought about three ads to alternate between some of the sections.

When we started recording we realised that our project was too ambicious, as we were only capable to film one or two pieces of news per day. The solution that we found was to cut out some of the news, leaving only one for everybody to make an appearance. This resulted in the inclusion of the just the following sections: national politics, international, gossip and weather.

To accomplish the project we divided the tasks. We chose a partner to work with and we wrote three articles per pair, trying to focous on the ones we appeared in. When they were all written, we transformed them in order to achieve a TV format, adding dialogues and natural reactions when needed.

While filming we faced more problems, as people hadn't learnt their scripts and we had a single camera. In the end, we scheduled two scenes to film everyday and we tried to stick to the programme. We used both the provided camera and our mobile phones, as it was impossible to move forward with a single recording method.

In our opinion, the timetable we were spected to follow was unfeasible, as there was little time to film and we lost some sessions due to writting the articles first and transforming them afterwards.
